Explore Edinburg Sponsors Live Script Reading of Popcorn Prophets
EDINBURG, Texas — The Popcorn Prophets team is proud to announce that Explore Edinburg — a division of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce — has joined as an official sponsor of the upcoming live script reading of Popcorn Prophets, taking place October 15, 2025, at The Citrus Live in Edinburg.
Popcorn Prophets, written by Edinburg native Reynaldo Leal and directed by Nate Boyer, is a feature film that shines a light on the people, places, and traditions that make Edinburg and the Rio Grande Valley a unique part of the American story.
“Explore Edinburg is proud to sponsor this unique opportunity that showcases the heart and creativity of our community,” said Executive Director Ronnie Larralde. “Supporting projects like Popcorn Prophets aligns perfectly with our mission to promote Edinburg’s culture, growth, and the talented individuals who call it home.”

The live script reading will feature professional actors, including Rio Grande Valley natives Dannie McCallum and David Barrera, and marks an important step as the production moves toward filming in 2026.
